World Pool (or Traditional) Candidate Process
The Human Resource Panel maintains the World Pool, a database of NA members who have identified that they are willing to serve at the world level. Membership in the pool requires five years clean for workgroup consideration, and at least eight years clean to be elected for service at the World Service Conference.
Following is a description of the World Pool (or Traditional) track of the HRP’s nomination process.
- At the start of the HRP’s nomination process (approximately nine months prior to each WSC), World Pool members with the required clean time of eight or more years clean are asked to identify if they are willing to be considered for nomination. Those who identify as willing are asked for additional information.
- World Pool members who express willingness to be considered, have the required clean time, and World Services experience, are invited to be interviewed by the HRP.
- From the list of interviewees, nominees are selected by the HRP, and voted on by conference participants (RDs and World Board members) at the World Service Conference.
Members interested in being considered as a World Pool candidate must be members of the World Pool.
Deadline for submission for the World Pool (or Traditional) candidate process for WSC 2023 is 30 September 2022.
